About Institution’s Industry Cell (IIC):

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HElS). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. MIC has encouraged creation of Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses. 

Objectives

  • To synchronize the quality of education to meet the current trends and needs of the industry.
  • To produce employable students i.e., Industry-Ready students.
  • To create adequate facilities for upgrading the knowledge of professional engineers and technologists to meet the growth and developmental needs of the current industry.
  • To integrate industrial training and other inputs to develop students.
  • To share the experience and expertise between institutions and industry for mutual benefits.
  • To improve students, faculty, infrastructure, pedagogy in line with the industry’s requirements.
  • To arrange an industrial visit, internships for students, and guest faculty from industry experts.

Major Focus of IIC:

To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem¬ Start-up/ entrepreneurship supporting Mechanism in HEIs¬  Develop better Cognitive Ability amongst Technology Students.

Functions of Institution’s Innovation Council:

Promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an¬ innovation promotion eco-system in the campus To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities prescribed by¬ Central MIC in time bounded fashion. Identify and reward innovations and share success stories. Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors,” and professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators. Network with pccrS and national entrepreneurship development organizations.¬ Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by¬ the institution’s faculty and students. Organize Hackathons, idea competitions, mini-challenges, etc with the involvement of industries.

Flipkart 9/3/2023 The visit gave good exposure to logistic students about the industry which helps them with the SC’s vastness of operations. The logistic park had tech warehouses with spacious and high provisions for loading, unloading, and cross-docking. The location, material infrastructure, layout, handling, and equipment at Safe the students express taught some very important lessons in Operations management.
Employee Life Cycle A workshop 4/3/2023 The seminar helps the students to life cycle which understanding employee implies an end-to-end process, keeping every touch point under surveillance and preparing for it.
